During normal Clinic hours emergencies will be dealt with immediately. The nurse will conduct an initial assessment of the vital signs of the pet. If it is necessary the vet on duty will be called to examine the sick or injured pet straight away. If it is not a life threatening problem then depending on the situation there may be a short waiting time if the vet is consulting or in surgery.
Out of hours emergencies are directed to the Specialist Animal Emergency Clinics, the closet one to us is the Mount Waverley AEC who can be contacted on 9803 8122. Only dedicated emergency centres have the staff and facilities to truly monitor emergency cases and that is why we refer our valued clients to these centres. Unfortunately it is often costly to visit these emergency centres after hours but the peace of mind they provide is compensation for the costs involved.
